Wild Mustangs on the Beach

Critically endangered having survived for over 500 years in Corolla, North Carolina, there are no words for the two weeks I spent on the 4WD beach at Carova Beach in Corolla. Wild Mustangs, descendants of Colonial Spanish Mustangs, these gorgeous horses run free along the ocean front and throughout the 7500 acres of preserve.

This is a must do for anyone wishing to see Mustangs still free. The Corolla Wild Horse Fund located in Corolla have done extraordinary work in the preservation, protection and education of these Mustangs. No matter whether you love horses or not, once you see one running free, wide open, mane flying in the ocean breeze, you are forever hooked.
